Stephen S. Roma - (Stephen Jr.)
Chief Operating Officer
Stephen was born in Brooklyn, New York and soon after lived in Howell, New Jersey. The Roma family moved to Marlboro, New Jersey when Stephen was just entering High School where he was a starting varsity High School Tennis player. Stephen attended West Chester University in Pennsylvania where he obtained a BS in Kinesiology and again was a starting player on the University Tennis team. Stephen later attended University of Colorado where he performed Masters studies in the area of Sport & Exercise Psychology.
Stephen‘s education was focused on understanding why people start exercising and, more importantly, why people fall-off their exercise program. Throughout Stephen’s college career he worked in all capacities at WoW, sincerely learning from the ground up. In 1998, Stephen returned home from his college career to begin working full-time in the family business, where he was able to put the combination of his formal education and real-life experience to excellent use.
In 2003, Stephen became Chief Operating Officer of WoW. Stephen currently lives in Manasquan, New Jersey with the love of his life Heidi (who runs the WoW pro shops “The Clothes Line”) and his beautiful daughter Soleil. In Stephen’s tenure at WoW the Roma family has evolved WoW to the product you see today, with a tremendous focus on Personal Training and Group Training. The clubs have expanded and been updated with the latest equipment, technology, programs, services, & professionals – and the WoW logo has even been updated along the way. But, the main vision of providing New Jersey with the right combination of professional support, fun structured workouts, and relationships is the same as it was when Stephen’s Mom, Mary, opened the first WoW in Tinton Falls, New Jersey in 1992.
